On-screen character Alia Bhatt has been named for The Most Inspiring Asian Woman award at the 2019 People’s Choice Awards. Alia is the only Indian on the rundown, which also incorporates any semblance of Chinese entertainer Zhou Dongyu, South Korean on-screen character Jung Yu-mi, South Korean vocalist musician CL, Thai on-screen character Praya Lundberg, Indonesian on-screen character Raline Shah, Malaysian artist lyricist Yuna and Thai model Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying.
If Alia wins, she’ll become just the second Indian to win a People’s Choice Award, after Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka won the Favorite Actress in a New TV Series in 2016 and the Favorite Dramatic TV Actress award in 2017, both for her TV series, Quantico. The victor for the Most Inspiring Asian Woman award will be chosen by means of an online survey, which is presently open, and will stay open till October 18.
While Alia’s latest film was Kalank – a basic and business flop – she had showed up in a series of hits preceding that. In 2018, she got approval for her presentation in the government operative show Raazi, coordinated by Meghna Gulzar. Alia Bhatt who ventured into Bollywood with the Dharma Production-sponsored 2012 film Student Of The Year, has conveyed a few hits during her tenure in Bollywood.
