Stylish Ways To Drape A Saree This Wedding Season

Saree is the go-to attire for every Indian girl. It is so forgiving and fits really well on all Indian body types. Especially, when it is the time to attend traditional events or weddings many girls choose to wear a saree over other ethnic outfits. However, is a plain straight saree look enough to raise the oomph factor? It may not be. With few tweaks and fashion tips, you can wear your same old saree in a completely new and refreshing way this wedding season. You can stand out of the crowd with the following ways to drape your saree.

Here are some out of the box saree styles you can experiment with in the next wedding.

Retro Mumtaz Style

Mumtaz was a veteran Bollywood actress who popularized a unique way of draping the saree. This way of draping goes well with chiffon sarees with preferably evident borders. You might want to experiment with other lighter and flexible fabrics. This style of draping is more of a sexier version of the saree, it exposes ample amount of midriff. Make sure you are comfortable with it before your event. Hence, practice draping it beforehand. This saree might be more appropriate for night parties and gatherings as opposed to traditional ceremonies.

Belted Saree Look

Belted saree look is a modern day adaptation of saree with a traditional kamarbandh, just that here instead of a kamarbandh you would team up your saree with a stylish belt or a band. You can use belts of different textures and materials to give a more definite look for the saree. You can wear leather, metal, embellished, colored or threaded belts with your bright and stylish sarees. Belt also helps the saree to stay in place. Hence, belted saree is great for an occasion where you have to dance or move a lot.

Pants Style Saree

Pants style saree is not exactly a complete saree. It is best suited for girls who don’t know how to drape a saree or don’t have the time to drape and manage it. You would always actually don’t need a proper saree to attain this look, this look can be achieved merely by a long dupatta. However, you have to mix and match the pants, dupatta and blouse well.
